The Intention:
Experience profound healing and transformation at our Plant Medicine Retreat in the mystical mountains of Tepoztlán, Mexico. Nestled amidst breathtaking natural beauty and ancient spiritual energy, this retreat offers a sacred space for deep inner exploration and connection with plant medicines. This space is for those seeking a deeply nurturing and intentional space to connect with the mushroom medicine (psilocybin) to support your self development and spiritual journey. These powerful plant allies, along with community and additional holistic practices, will support you in releasing emotional blockages, gaining clarity and insight, and reconnecting with your true self.
Our retreat includes two sacred ceremonies, a Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony led by a local Temazcalero, group integration circles, individual healing sessions, and immersive nature experiences to enhance your spiritual growth and personal development. You will have the opportunity to explore the depths of your consciousness, confront limiting beliefs, and embrace profound healing on all levels – mind, body, and soul.

Experimente una profunda sanación y transformación en nuestro retiro ancestral en las místicas montañas de Tepoztlán, México. Ubicado en medio de una impresionante belleza natural y una antigua energía espiritual. Este espacio es para aquellos que buscan un espacio intencional y profundamente enriquecedor para conectarse con la medicina de los hongos (psilocibina) para apoyar su desarrollo personal y su viaje espiritual. Estos poderosos aliados, junto con prácticas comunitarias y holísticas adicionales, lo ayudarán a liberar bloqueos emocionales, obtener claridad y percepción, y reconectarse con su verdadero yo.
Nuestro retiro incluye dos ceremonias sagradas, una ceremonia de Temazcal dirigida por un Temazcalero local, círculos de integración grupal, sesiones de sanación individuales y experiencias de inmersión en la naturaleza para mejorar su crecimiento espiritual y desarrollo personal. Preparation for the sacred mushrooms

While psilocybin mushrooms are a powerful medicine, it is crucial to approach them with humility and respect. The mushrooms are very unpredictable and the experience differs from person to person. While we can’t control what the medicine will give you, we believe preparation through information, intention, community building, and integration planning is key to your experience. We will be hosting 3 1 hour meetings before our retreat to prepare on October 17th, 22nd, and 24th at 6:30pm mountain time.
Los hongos de psilocibina son una medicina poderosa y es fundamental conectarse con ellos con humildad y respeto. Los hongos son muy impredecibles y la experiencia difiere de persona a persona. No podemos controlar lo que les brindará la medicina, creemos que la preparación a través de la información, la intención, la construcción de comunidad y la planificación de la integración es clave para su experiencia. Tendremos 3 reuniones de 1 hora antes de nuestro retiro para prepararnos los días 17, 22 y 24 de octubre a las 6:30 p.m.
The Space | El espacio
Our retreat space is located in beautiful Tepoztlan, Mexico and is just a 90-minute scenic ride south of Mexico City airport. The space is equipped with surrounding magical mountains, a pool, hot tub, a dedicated ceremony space, and private culinary team to enhance your transformational journey. A transportation shuttle will be provided to and from the Mexico City airport, guests should plan to arrive no later than 3pm on November 18th and plan to be dropped off at the airport on November 23rd.
Nuestro espacio de retiro está ubicado en hermoso Tepoztlán, México, y está a solo 90 minutos en auto del aeropuerto de la Ciudad de México. El espacio está equipado con montañas mágicas, una piscina, un jacuzzi, un espacio para ceremonia, y un equipo culinario privado para apoyar su viaje transformador. Se proporcionará un servicio de transporte desde y hacia el aeropuerto de la Ciudad de México. Los huéspedes deben llegar antes de las 3pm del 18 de noviembre y regresar al aeropuerto el 23 de noviembre.

Once you have been cleared to participate you will be sent payment links for your deposit or payment plans. We are asking for a $500 deposit minimum and are offering 9 month payment plans of $277.77 for shared rooms and $322.22 for private rooms. If you feel the call to join us reach out, we open to working with you on extended payment plans.

FounderValeria is a dedicated holistic practitioner with a deep passion for healing through community and plant medicine. As the founder of The Balam Sanctuary, a holistic retreat company offering plant medicine facilitation, she is committed to creating safe, sacred spaces for collective healing. Valeria's nurturing spirit shines through as she believes in people's ability to foster their own light through mindfulness, resilience, and connection to the Earth. She holds a special reverence for the sacredness of mushroom medicine, the Earth, and the interconnectedness of community and serves as a heartfelt guide for those who attend her retreats. Valeria has experience facilitating in groups, ceremonies, and private journeys and has been serving plant medicine since 2021.

Cal Duran is a multidimensional healer and creative . A two spirit woven human, blessed to have teachers and elders bridging from Peru, Guatamaya, Tibet and these lands. Sound healer and earth keeper, he strives to help the collective embrace this earth, with remembrance through sacred mycelium and integration through sound, offerings and prayer. He holds honor with the importance of remembering our bodies , minds, hearts and souls through the vibration of the plants, fire and earth , and the duality of life and death through ritual, ceremony, and song.

Meet Sammy! A Reiki Master, Intuitive Card Reader and Curioso/Shaman from Puerto Rico whose essences is truly pure love and light. Sammy’s journey into the realm of healing began eight solar returns ago as whispers in the wind guided them to a path in mysticism, they draw upon the rich tapestry of Caribbean Curanderismo, teachings from Spiritual Guides that he has had the pleasure of working with and traditions from their upbringing. As a multifaceted healer, Sammy’s gifts let him weave intricate rituals along with calling upon your spirit team to aid in healings with the help of sound, crystals, smoke and intentionally made spiritual waters infused Reiki. Sammy takes you on a healing journey that guides you between realms of light and shadow to make you feel whole again.
Sammy is known for his feather sweepings and blessings, but also offers cord cuttings, limpias and ancestral guided healings to name a few. They invite all who seek healing to journey into the depths of their sacred sanctuary, where the magic of transformation awaits those who dare to embrace the light within.
